Being NABH-accredited is much more than having a certificate on the wall; it is a daily commitment to continuous quality improvement and patient safety. NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers) lays down structured standards for how a hospital should function – from admission to discharge, from infection control to patient rights. At Rameshwaram Ayurveda & Nature Cure Super Speciality Hospital, we have chosen to align our systems with these standards so that Ayurveda is delivered in a way that is organized, traceable and trustworthy for patients and families.

NABH guidelines shape how we register patients and maintain their records, ensuring that your history, reports, prescriptions and therapy details are properly documented and easy to retrieve when needed. Before starting any major therapy or admission, we take informed consent – this means we clearly explain the procedure, its purpose, possible discomforts, precautions and alternatives, and only then proceed once you or your family have understood and agreed. We also screen for contraindications before Panchakarma and Naturopathy procedures, so that therapies like Vasti, intense Swedana or certain packs are not given when they could be unsafe due to age, pregnancy, cardiac conditions, severe weakness or other factors.

Quality standards affect even the smallest details of your experience. Our NABH-driven protocols cover therapy-room hygiene, linen management and infection control, including how often linens are changed, how surfaces are cleaned, how oils and instruments are handled and how waste is disposed. We follow a privileging system for doctors and therapists, meaning each person is formally authorised to perform only those procedures for which they are qualified and trained. This avoids casual or unsupervised practice and ensures that the right person is doing the right task at the right time.

Another important part of NABH is listening to the patient’s voice. At Rameshwaram Ayurveda, we have systems to record, analyse and respond to patient feedback and complaints, so that problems are not ignored but used as learning points.
